Neighborhood Swatch - Ciate "Chain reaction" & Sinful Colors "where oh werewolf" Episode 1

I'm baaaaaack ... finally eh. I bet you missed me and were wondering when my next post was gonna happen. I've been a bit preoccupied for the last few weeks with my limb challenged Pug, Max.

I want to start getting into the real reason for my starting a blog and one of those things is to share nail polish swatches and newbie nail art attempts. Let's dive right in, shall we.

My most recent nail swatch is orgasmic! You'll not be surprised to hear that it's a purple swatch. I planned on doing some nail art on it but it was just too beautiful to cover up. Have a look ...

Is this not gorgeous?! Have another look, just because ...

Just look at that gorgeous purpleness in all its shiny glory. I'm not great at photography, yet but I'll get better and you'll see just how lovely nail polishes can be. This particular polish is Ciate "Chain Reaction". I base coated with OPI Nail Envy and topped it off with Essie Couture Top Coat. My index finger has a french tip done in Sinful Colors "Where Oh Werewolf". This color was graciously given to me by Stephanie at Imperfectly Painted. I won her online giveaway back in October. Besides this polish, she also sent me 2 other Sinful Colors, Devil's Stare and Couture For Sure and some ScentSationals (which of course I had to buy a beautiful purple burner for hehe).

Anywhoo, back to the polish. This was a one-coater. I should have done two because I saw in certain lights afterward that there were patches that seemed lighter. That said, I think that was because I did too many strokes. It lasted 4 days before it started to come off the nail edge which to me is great because I normally use a peel-off base and change it up every 2 days or so. When I removed it, I found this lovely layer of silver underneath that purple lusciousness. I guess that's the reason for the sheen.

I give this polish a five-finger rating.

My obsession with all things fingernail started because I was picking at my nails and at any given point I probably had 5 nails that were bloody. Here's the first things I did to try and stop myself from doing it (and to hide my bloody stumps).

Nice eh? About a year ago I decided that the way to go would be to take advantage of the nearby nail salon (in Salt Springs) and get my nails done with shellac every couple of weeks. It worked! It also had the side effect of me wanting every nail polish out there and wanting to learn some fun nail art techniques. Here's some swatches from the past year, just for shits and giggles ...

I hope you made it through all that and are still with me. If anyone wants to know what any of the polishes are, just leave a comment and I'll get back asap.

Are you a fan of nail polish? Any tips and tricks you'd like to share? I'd love to hear from you 😉 See you soon.
